Terms of service

These terms apply when you use turnitinusa.com or our API. By creating an account or using TurnitinUSA, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

• Give us accurate information, and keep your email address up to date.
• Keep your password and API key private. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us at support@turnitinusa.com right away if you think someone else has used your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use TurnitinUSA.

TurnitinUSA is pay as you go. There are no subscriptions. You buy checks and words in advance, and your balance never expires.

• Each check of one document uses 1 check.
• Humanize uses 1 word from your balance for each word you submit.
• Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by our payment processors or on the blockchain.
• Crypto payments can’t be reversed once they are sent. Send the exact amount shown, on the network shown.
• A code can be redeemed once per account and adds the balance it states. Some codes expire or have a limited number of uses. Codes have no cash value.

If a check can’t be completed, the check is returned to your balance. Most returns happen automatically; some are reviewed first. If a Humanize request fails, the words are returned to your balance.

If something went wrong with a purchase, write to support@turnitinusa.com. We handle refunds of payments case by case, and always where the law requires it.

You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us, and our checking and rewriting partners, permission to process it to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. Our checking partner may retain documents and results it processes.

Only upload documents that you have the right to submit.

Similarity and AI-writing scores are indicators to help you review a document. They are not proof of plagiarism or of AI use, and AI-writing detection can be wrong. We don’t promise any particular score, or that results will match those seen elsewhere.

AI-writing scores from 1% to 19% are shown as *%, because scores in that range are less reliable.

You’re responsible for how you use results and rewritten text, including following any rules that apply to your work.

Please don’t:

• break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights;
• upload malware, or anything you aren’t allowed to share;
• try to get into other accounts or our systems without permission;
• overload, scrape, copy or reverse engineer the service;
• share, sell or resell your account, API key or access, except through our reseller program;
• get around balances, limits or other protections.

API requests use the same balances as the website. Keep your API key secret; you can regenerate it at any time. We may limit request rates, and we may revoke a key that is used against these terms.

We may suspend or disable an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. You can stop using TurnitinUSA at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to support@turnitinusa.com.

The TurnitinUSA name and logo are ours. Other names and marks that appear on the site belong to their owners. References to third-party products, including Turnitin, are for identification only and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

TurnitinUSA is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don’t guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error free.

To the extent the law allows, TurnitinUSA isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know by email or on the site before it takes effect.
